Michelle Brown, President / Daily Money Manager
My personal story is at the heart of my passion for helping others with Daily Money Management services.
When my father developed Alzheimer’s, I saw my mom struggling to keep up with their finances. Naturally, I stepped in to help.
I took on the responsibility of organizing their budget, managing their bills and accounts, researching benefits available to them, and creating a savings plan. As a result, I helped them get out of debt and build a solid financial cushion.
When we reached the difficult point where dad needed specialized care, I was ready with a plan that made the most of their resources and secured the necessary benefits, positioning them to afford an Assisted Living facility with memory care where dad thrived.
I found it incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact I was able to have for them.
Meanwhile, after a rewarding and demanding 27-year career in corporate America, I was ready to retire from corporate America and wanted to start a new chapter—one where I could use my skills and experience to make a more personal impact.
I couldn’t help but wonder…
What about people in a situation like my parents who don’t have an adult child able to help them?
What about their adult children who feel overwhelmed trying to balance the responsibility of managing finances for their aging parents with the demands of their own career and family?
What about people going through a divorce or life transition who don’t know how to manage their personal finances?
I knew these people needed help, and that I could help them.
And so, I started Advocate Money Management.
